Needless to say, these records in physical forms are prone to loss or damage by water, fire or mould, even more worrisome is the fact that they are also quite hard to verify as there are many bad actors willing to forge academic records at almost next to nothing costs.
To help schools solve this recurrent problem, Akowe has decided to partner with primary and secondary schools. How Does It Work?
Academic records are generated every single term. From continuous assessment records to exam records to first school leaving certificates and testimonials, these academic records can be created and issued digitally.
We bundle Akowe with a School Management Software which we deploy for you in your school. We also provide training for staff members showing how to input data and simplify everyday tasks.
How About Safety of Records
Indeed, safety of records are paramount. Even more important is the legitimacy of the records. This is why Akowe uses blockchain technology to secure the academic records in its care. Blockchain technology is designed in a way that makes tampering with records impossible. Records stored using the distributed ledger technology, is immutable and tamper-proof. Thereby preserving the legitimacy of the record from the moment it was issued.
When there is a need to update the record, e.g. in legitimate cases like wrongly spelled names, or incorrect grades, the original record cannot be tampered with, rather, an additional record with the correct details will be issued. This then provides a history of the record, showing the original and the addendum.
